Hi Phoenix!

This past fall, we launched the fourth phase of community outreach to educate and engage the public from Greg Stanton Central Station to 35th Avenue about the BRT program. We focused on providing program updates and collecting community and stakeholder input on the proposed BRT lane options on Van Buren Street.

Between October and November 2025, we used 14 communication outreach methods to successfully connect with more than 5,500 residents, business owners, elected officials, community leaders, and transit riders. We hosted one community workshop, one business workshop, five pop-up events, and an online open house meeting tool in an effort to gather your preferred lane option.

The results from 261 survey respondents told us 51% prefer the center-running lane option. Respondents reported faster travel times, pedestrian access and safety, and dedicated lanes causing no impacts from local bus or general transit as the top three reasons for selecting the center-running option.

For more information on the survey and outreach, check out our Community Engagement Summary.

Our goal is to include everyone in the BRT project, and I truly look forward to having you on board throughout the entire journey.
